WHAT ARE PERSONAL DATA?
Personal data are any information, which refers to an identified or identifiable natural person. The different information that, together, can lead to the identification of a certain person is also personal data. Personal data that has been anonymized, encrypted or pseudonymized but can be used to identify a person remains personal data and is covered by the GDPR. Personal data that have been made anonymous in such a way that the natural person is not or no longer identifiable is no longer considered personal data. For the data to be truly anonymized, the anonymization must be irreversible.
The GDPR protects personal data regardless of the technology used to process the data – it is „technologically neutral” and applies to both automatic processing and manual processing, provided that the data is organized according to predefined criteria (for example, in alphabetical order). It also doesn’t matter how data is stored – in an ICT system, by video surveillance or on paper; In all these cases, the personal data are subject to the protection requirements formulated in the GDPR.
WHAT KIND OF PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT FROM YOU?
The information and personal data we collect about you when you visit our websites or interact with us are:
Personal details provided by you. These are:
- email address, when creating the user account;
- your name, email address, phone number, collected when registering online or by email your requests and complaints, sending messages or feedback, participating in surveys, to the extent that you voluntarily provide them;
- email address when you subscribe to our newsletters;
- your name and billing address when making purchases on the platform;
- your name, email address, phone number when participating in our offers and promotions.
WHAT KIND OF PERSONAL DATA DO THIRD PARTIES COLLECT FROM YOU WHEN USING LIVRESQ?
Payment information – your payment account details, credit and debit card numbers, expiration date, email, name on the card are collected directly by the company that provides online transfer of the amounts approved by you. The respective data are not transmitted to Ascendia and are subject to the data protection rules specific to the respective operator.
Information collected automatically – information about your computer, IP address, and browser, user information is collected by Google Analytics and is managed by it according to its own GDPR policies. Ascendia does not have access to the personal data thus collected, the only accessible information being of statistical type. On the Livresq website, Ascendia’s own cookies are not used.
WHY DO WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
We collect and use your personal data for the purposes below and within the limits of the law:
- To access our products (for logging in);
- For sending newsletters, questionnaires, information related to events organized by Ascendia, to the extent that you have expressed your agreement in this regard;
- To respond to your requests, comments or complaints;
- In order to elaborate invoices for the purchases made, according to the legislation in force.
HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
We will keep your personal data only for as long as it is necessary to meet the purpose for which they were provided or collected by us (for example, for the period needed to answer questions or resolve issues).
Login data will be deleted when you delete your account. The data regarding the receipt of correspondence from Ascendia will be deleted at any time at your request. The data related to financial transactions will be kept for the time required by the legal regulations.
YOUR CONSENT
Your consent for the use of personal data is made when the user account is created by ticking the appropriate GDPR box on the account creation page. The consent is not implicit and conditions the realization of the account. You can withdraw your consent by requesting your account to be deleted at any time.
SECURITY OF PERSONAL DATA
Personal data is secured against threats and we ensure that they are protected by an IT infrastructure and appropriate security measures. Moreover, we have implemented internal measures that allow us to discover, notify and document security breaches as soon as possible.
If we discover any personal data breaches that pose a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will inform the National Supervisory Authority for the processing of Personal Data. You will be informed of the violation of your personal data if this leads to a high risk for your rights and freedoms.
