Ascendia (LIVRESQ) is now a member of the European Commission's Digital Educational Content (DEC) Expert Group!
Ascendia, a leading developer of e-learning solutions, has been selected as a member of the European Commission's Digital Educational Content (DEC) Expert Group. This group, established within the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC), aims to improve the quality, safety, reliability and inclusiveness of digital educational content across the European Union. As the only company in this expert group, Ascendia will contribute its expertise in creating learning management systems, educational content publishers and standardized e-learning content for ministries of education, schools, universities and companies with a large number of beneficiaries.
About the Digital Educational Content (DEC) Expert Group
The CED Expert Group, set up as part of the European Commission's Digital Literacy Action Plan 2021-2027, is tasked with developing guidelines and quality requirements to ensure that digital learning materials are well designed, reliable and inclusive. These efforts will help Member States to systematically evaluate and improve their digital education offerings.
Group guidelines and quality requirements will cover three main categories:
- Education providers: Ensure that educational institutions have access to high-quality digital tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
- Member State authorities: Advising national governments on policy development and integration of digital technologies in education systems to ensure coherent and equitable access across Europe.
- Teachers and trainers: Supporting teachers and trainers in developing digital competences and the effective use of innovative educational technologies in their teaching practices.

Members include notable organizations such as AFINEF, ALL DIGITAL AISBL, Ascendia, European Edtech Alliance e.V., European Schoolnet, European Trade Union Committee for Education (ETUCE), Federation of European Publishers, Lunds Universitet, Universiteit Twente, SCIO CZ and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). In addition, entities such as the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), UNESCO and the World Bank participate as observers.
