What are REDs and why are they important?

Open Educational Resources (OER) are freely accessible and freely available digital learning materials that can be used, adapted and distributed by teachers, students or trainers. These resources play a key role in promoting equity in education and support pedagogical innovation.

The LIVRESQ platform is an example of excellence in the creation, use and publishing of OER. LIVRESQ not only provides intuitive tools for developing interactive educational content, but also supports an active community of teachers who contribute valuable lessons to the public library.

What are REDs and why are they important?

Digital pedagogy page on LIVRESQ ( https://livresq.com/ro/pedagogie-digitala/) clearly outlines the LIVRESQ philosophy: hands-on training with immediate applicability, where teachers learn how to create interactive digital lessons in OER format that they can publish in the LIVRESQ Library.

The aim is twofold:

  • Increasing the quality of educational resources used in the countryside;
  • Developing digital competences of teachers in line with European standards.

This page is the resource center for all those who participate in the course "Designing, Implementing and Using Open Educational Resources" and presents:

  • Detailed guides,
  • Practical exercises,
  • Video training sessions,
  • Best practice models.

  • Suitable for frontal lessons or review;
  • Easily adaptable to any level of learning.
  1. CLARITY NETWORK
    Emphasizes rigorous and logical organization of information, optimal for lessons requiring maximum clarity. It is ideal for education based on well-defined and easy-to-follow concepts, facilitating deep and rapid comprehension.

  • Engages students emotionally and cognitively;
  • Great for discovery learning and scenarios.

All templates can be duplicated in your personal account, adapted and republished, making it a great starting point for beginning teachers.

Publication and quality rules

In order for a RED to be accepted in the LIVRESQ Library, it must meet certain minimum requirements:

Correct completion of Metadata (mandatory)

To ensure effective searchability and a professional presentation, each educational resource must include:

  • Title of the lesson
  • Full name of the author
  • Complete description of the lesson content
  • A representative cover image (cover)
  • At least 3 relevant keywords (for indexing and search)

Correct export classification

When publishing in the LIVRESQ Library, it is essential to verify that the resource is correctly classified to ensure proper integration within the platform:

  • Target age group
  • Target Category (e.g. Interactive Lessons)
  • Target class
  • Target subject matter/subject

Quality of content in the lesson

To maintain high-quality standards on the platform, all published lessons must meet the following conditions:

  • Removing predefined items from the template (e.g. texts such as "Write a sequel...""Add title here...", demonstration videos or test quizzes).
  • All interactive elements must be functional (e.g. quizzes, buttons, links, etc.).
  • Hyperlinks must be valid and lead to accurate sources. and lead to the right sources.
  • The main content must be presented within the LIVRESQ lesson – not solely as an attachment. (Example: a lesson consisting only of an attached PDF or PPT file will not be approved.)

These rules have been developed precisely to ensure the quality of public content and to provide a genuine educational experience for those using OER.
