How do I correctly publish an Open Educational Resource (OER) in the LIVRESQ Library?
Example on the RED Template in the Library
Hello,
To correctly publish an Open Educational Resource (OER) in the LIVRESQ library, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Preparing material for publication
1. Access the Workshop
- Open the RED Template in the LIVRESQ Workshop.
2. Set up "Contents":
- Navigate to the "Table of Contents" section and make sure you have applied "Bookmarks" to each relevant title and subtitle. This makes it easier to navigate the material.
3. Fill in the "Metadata":
- Publication title: Click on the existing title (e.g. "DIGITAL PEDAGOGY - SHABLON RED") and add the name of your material.
- Lesson image: To change the default image, click the "Change image" button and select a new representative image.
- Author's name: Edit the appropriate section and add your name.
Description of RED: Click in the description area, delete the example text and write a description relevant to your material.
Contents: Add the table of contents to the educational material.
Keywords: Add relevant terms that describe the content of the lesson.
Project language: Make sure "English" is selected.
Nomenclature EN: Select the "Class" and "Subject" corresponding to your material and if applicable select "Specific Skills" and "Content Areas".
Step 2: Publishing material in the LIVRESQ Library
1. Export the material:
- Under the "Metadata" section, find and click the "Export" button, then select the "Publish to Library (Personal Shelf)" option.
2. Share application source:
- In the window that appears, check the "Share application source" option. This step is very important for the resource you have created to be considered an Open Educational Resource.
3. Finalize the publication process:
Wait for the platform to automatically prepare the package.
Once completed, a link to your lesson will be displayed. Click on this link to open the resource details page.
Classification: Click on the "Edit Rating" button and select "Age" (e.g., "Kids") and "Category" (e.g., "Interactive Lessons"). Click the "Save" button to confirm your settings.
Request publication: After saving the classification, search and click the "Request publication" button to submit your material for review.
4. Verification and approval:
Your request for publication in the public library will be processed by the LIVRESQ team. Within 1-3 days, you will receive an e-mail notification of acceptance or refusal of publication.
5. Important: Note that you can make your Open Educational Resource from scratch, or use any other template for your OER, but the steps outlined above are mandatory.
