Important Clarifications: 100,000 teachers to be trained in digital pedagogy project launched

Microsoft Romania and Ascendia invites you to an exclusive event marking the launch of a crucial project dedicated to digital education in Romania: Train 100,000 teachers in digital pedagogy. This initiative will not only transform the educational paradigm at the pre-university level, but will also enable teachers to acquire the necessary skills to excel in the use of modern educational technology.

  • Target audience: Public and private Universities, County School Inspectorates (ISJs), Centers for the Development of Teaching Competences (CCDs) and public or private providers of in-service training.

Event Objectives:

The event will highlight the key digital components of the project "Digital pedagogy for pre-university teachers", according to the Terms of Reference, for which bids can be submitted until May 31, 2024.

The topics to be covered are the following:

1. Teacher training and creating educational resources

  • Project objective: Train 100,000 teachers and create 50,000 open educational resources.
  • Digital tools: Each participant will have access to an e-learning platform and an open educational resources editor, all available in Romanian.

2. Compatibility and Integration

  • Flexibility: Open Educational Resources Editor to be compatible with any Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Metadata and standardization: Resources will include detailed pedagogical descriptions and relevant metadata (subject, grade, content area, competences, keywords).

3. SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) standardization

  • SCORM exports: We will demonstrate how open educational resources need to be prepared for SCORM export, a mandatory standard for integration on national platforms.
  • Importance of Compliance: Resources must meet SCORM requirements to be accepted on the Ministry of Education platform.
 

4. Compliance with UNESCO REDs

  • UNESCO Compliance: We will explain how the platform and resources must align with UNESCO's definition of Open Educational Resources (OERs), facilitating the creation and sharing of quality educational content.

5. DigCompEdu Compliance: We will specify how the training platform and tools must be in line with the European Framework of Digital Competences for Educators, ensuring that the training delivered is relevant, up-to-date and in line with European best practice.

6. Project submission

  • Submission process: details about the online submission process, evaluation criteria and deadlines for applications.
  • Discuss partnerships.
